SL to be the first country in the world to have universal internet access

google loon 1Foreign, Telecommunications and IT Minister, Mangala Samaraweera, today announced on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka a historic initiative to cover the entire country with affordable high-speed internet in partnership with Google. Using high altitude balloons Google Loon will cover every inch of Sri Lanka with seamless access to the internet. Sri Lanka is now on its way to becoming the first country in the world to have universal internet coverage.

Revelations on Thajudeen murder!

thajudeenThe CID has informed Colombo additional magistrate Nishantha Peiris that the death of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen was not due to a vehicle accident. Therefore, as we reported before, it has now been established that Thajudeen was murdered.

We also exposed the close connection former president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second son Yoshitha had with this killing. Confirming this, police previously told courts that they suspected the son of a powerful politician was behind it.

anura kumara 27JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that he is pleased to face the court case filed against him and five of his colleagues if the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa alleges to send a demand notice for slandering him.
 
He said if there is a court case filed that he will get an opportunity to tell the former president’s face about his robbing of public funds.
