Offices at CPC sealed to ensure the safety of “files”

lanka 1The Power and Energy Ministry has taken steps to seal several offices in the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to ensure that important documents and files do not go missing from the institution.

Office rooms of seven senior officials of the CPC including its former chairman, managing director and deputy general manager have been sealed by the Ministry due to information received of attempts to remove certain files from the CPC.

Meanwhle UPFA MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena has reportedly paid Rs. 32 million to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).

Gunawardena it is learnt has made the payment for fuel stocks purchased from the CPC.

Sources from the Power and Energy Ministry have said the relevant payment was made by the MP before the new minister assumed office yesterday.

The CPC a few days back decided to stop providing fuel to a fuel station in Ambalangoda said to be owned by Gunawardena over the alleged non payment of Rs. 170 million in dues.
